So if you haven’t worked out by now, I’m Sophie and I’m a remote freelance writer. I’m still pretty new to this whole ‘working for myself’ business, so far it just means I eat a lot more toast than I used to and I have to check my wallet before I splash out on coffee (yep. I said ‘splash out.’ Oh the writers life!)
If there’s one thing I’ve done in the past few months though, it’s bookmark. I bookmark every single job site that might help me. And then I open all the tabs in one browser and I get down to some serious applications.
“But Sophie… you’re a freelance writer. So why are you applying for jobs?”
Because. People aren’t going to find me just because I exist on the internet. So do 3.2 billion other people. I need to go to them, convince them that I’m the writer that’s going to sell their coffee/donkeys/inflatable donuts.
